The Tasks of Grief
In Module Two we are going to look at the Four Tasks of Grief following a divorce. These Tasks are based on the Four Tasks developed by Dr. William Worden. We are going to address each of those tasks and create your framework to begin tackling each one individually.
CAUTION: We must acknowledge that this is not a linear process, you will find that you will circle through, and fall back, and think you crossed one off when all of a sudden, something triggers an episode.
Here are our Four Tasks of Grieving Divorce…
[li type=”icon-caret-right”]Accept the Reality of the Loss[/li]
[li type=”icon-caret-right”]Experience the Pain of Grief[/li]
[li type=”icon-caret-right”]Adjust to the new Normal[/li]
[li type=”icon-caret-right”]Reinvesting or Learning to Thrive[/li]
[/list]
We want to make it clear that grieving is an important part of the process and not something to be ashamed of or embarrassed about.
Simply by understanding the stages of grief and what needs to be accomplished you take an important first step to conquering these tasks. We are not suggesting that you will conquer all four of these tasks during this month, but developing the framework for you to use as you move forward. Your job during this module is to work through these materials and complete the worksheet Getting a Grip on Grief.
Last, make sure to keep you eye out for your bonus delivery. You should be receiving your copy of Radical Recovery: Transforming the despair of your divorce into an unexpected good, and your MasterPlan binder to keep all your worksheets and resources.
